In all of these young boys is a desire to be a man. Now, being a man isn’t always about being tough, strong and wild. But sometimes it is. Gladiator Night is a safe place for these boys to be wild, adventurous, and as manly as possible. It’s tons of fun, and I guarantee you that they will not experience anything like this back home. This event is unique to Camp Ridgecrest for Boys, and it’s one of their favorites…. Check out this sneak peak…

Quinton Stevenson is a Junior at Mississippi State University. This will be his third summer at camp, where he will be leading the Mighty Apache tribe. Quinton is most looking forward to going to Sliding Rock with the Apache, even if the heaters are broken again this year. He is also looking forward to making improvements on the “Sock Cannon” from last year. His goal this year is to use his air-powered cannon to shoot a sawdust-filled sock across the lake.

Micah Andrews will be returning this summer to, once more, victoriously lead the Shawnee tribe. After completing his junior year at Florida State University in May, he will retreat to the cooler climate of the mountains, where he is most excited about swimming in the lake with the Shawnee. Micah is known around camp as a legendary blobber, so be sure to ask him to blob you during free swim. He is also looking forward to getting his hands on Cheerwine once more.

Tory Singer is in his third year at camp, and will be returning to his post as Choctaw Tribal Leader once more. This summer, Tory will have completed his Junior year at the University of Georgia, and he can’t wait for Sock War. Here at camp, if Tory isn’t out on the two-square and four-square courts, you can find him tearing it up on the ping-pong tables. He can’t wait to get back to camp, and welcomes all ping-pong challengers.

Matt Stapp is also in his third year at camp, and will have graduated from the University of Georgia by the time summer gets here. Matt is a jack-of-all-trades here at camp. He started as a counselor in the Choctaw tribe, then, last summer, he was the camp videographer, and now he is looking to round out his camping experience by leading the Arapaho tribe. Matt’s interests include frisbee golf and indoor hockey. When asked to classify his level of excitement about this summer, Matt could only describe his excitement as “Red-Hot”.

Adam Bebeau is going to be the Sioux Tribal Leader this coming summer, after he finishes his junior year at Clemson University. This will be his 9th summer with camp, and he cannot wait to get back to Roan mountain. Adam has some great new trails to hike this coming summer, but he also can’t wait to get back to the classic hikes that the Trailblazers are used to. Back at camp, Adam is most looking forward to campfire, and late-nights chilling in TBI.
