Greetings from Ridgecrest Summer Camps! I hope you were able to read our last blog about the Snow Storm here at camp. By the time the snow ended, we had over a foot of snow! It was absolutely beautiful! Not much has melted so we are still enjoying the remnants.
Well, it’s Christmas time and we’d like to bring you another Norman Rockwell Christmas card. Thank you Wayne for your talent and inspiration.
We hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Today is Tuesday! Do you know what that means? It’s Campfire day which means cookouts, singing, fires, and hearing a message from God’s Word. We’d like to take you back to the summer and remind you of our time around the fire! If you know the song, sing along!
Now if you really want to treat today as if it were a Tuesday at camp, ask your parents if they can cook your dinner over a fire. I’m sure they would love that!
This past week, Ron, Phil and Sharon attended the Christian Camp and Conference Association’s National Conference in Colorado Springs, CO. We had the opportunity to attend seminars/sessions and also worship with other camping people. It was a fun and restful time! We thought it would be a good idea to give you an idea of what we got to do while we were out there. Take a look!
Although winter is coming and it’s almost Christmas, we’d like to take you back to the summer and show you some of the best blobs from 2009. I’m sure some of these could have been painful, but it’s always worth it! Hope you are getting excited about next summer and being able to blob again.
It’s that time again; time to eat turkey, stuffing, and all the fixin’s! We hope you enjoy your time this weekend with your friends and family while you are away from school and work. Get some rest and take time to thank God for all the ways He has provided for you. Here’s our way of wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Ridgecrest Summer Camps is about to be involved in breaking a Guinness World Record! We are joining the WSSA Stack Up! team to beat the world record of “Most People Sport Stacking at Multiple Locations in One Day.” The event is being held this Thursday, Nov. 12. Ron has been pushing us hard to train and get ready for the event. Check it out!

Check back at the end of the week to see our involvement in breaking the world record!
Each session, our villages have the opportunity to take a trip out of camp. We’d love to show you just a few places they visited this summer.
Some that you did not see in the video include whitewater rafting on the Nantahala, tubing down Deep Creek, Sliding Rock, painting pottery, WNC Nature Center, ice skating, Upper and Lower Creek Falls, and more. It’s always a fun and exciting time at Camp Crestridge!
We added several new skills at Crestridge for 2009. Those included cooking, needlecraft, digital photography, mystery skill, outdoor games, and table games. They were a great addition to camp!

When there are no campers here, we have to make simple things fun. This video will show you one of those times.
In case you did not read our previous blog, we are having a Photo contest. You can read the guidelines here. Be sure to submit photos from the summer of 2009. Staff can participate as well!
