It’s that time of year again. Camp is over and empty, you’re back in school, sports are starting, the weather is getting cooler. It’s quite an adjustment right after camp ends to see it empty. I’d much rather have you all here to make camp…well, camp! Here’s a couple things to look forward to as you are reminiscing about the summer.
If you haven’t signed up for next summer, consider doing so quickly. Spots are filling up fast!
Singspiration is something that is unique to Crestridge. It’s basically a big dance party with all of camp only to songs that have been used throughout the history of Crestridge. Most of the songs we sing are from the mid-90′s until now. We sing songs, dance to them, share favorite Bible verses, and others may perform a song they may have written or they really like. We have Singspiration every Sunday night and it’s a favorite!
Who would have ever thought you could have so much fun with newspapers? Well, here at Crestridge, we’ve found a way! We play different games such as Word Search, Tallest Tower, Smallest Pile, Look-a-Like Contest, Stuff Your Counselor, Hide your Village, Snowball Fight, and more! We haven’t played this game in a while, but decided to bring it back for a Campwide Activity.
This past Monday night’s campwide activity was Night of Chaos. The campers and staff ran around trying to complete different tasks such as giving their counselor a hairdo with shaving cream, dumping a bucket of water on someone, feeding birthday cake to a cabin mate, transferring cotton balls from one bucket to another using only your nose and Vaseline, and much more. It’s such a great activity and the campers and staff love it! Here’s our first Vlog of 2010:
Back in September, I wrote a blog introducing our 2010 Crestridge Intern-Kathleen Hobbs. Kathleen started work last Monday and is working hard. Here’s a word from her:
Greetings from Ridgecrest Summer Camps! I hope you were able to read our last blog about the Snow Storm here at camp. By the time the snow ended, we had over a foot of snow! It was absolutely beautiful! Not much has melted so we are still enjoying the remnants.
Well, it’s Christmas time and we’d like to bring you another Norman Rockwell Christmas card. Thank you Wayne for your talent and inspiration.
We hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Today is Tuesday! Do you know what that means? It’s Campfire day which means cookouts, singing, fires, and hearing a message from God’s Word. We’d like to take you back to the summer and remind you of our time around the fire! If you know the song, sing along!
Now if you really want to treat today as if it were a Tuesday at camp, ask your parents if they can cook your dinner over a fire. I’m sure they would love that!
This past week, Ron, Phil and Sharon attended the Christian Camp and Conference Association’s National Conference in Colorado Springs, CO. We had the opportunity to attend seminars/sessions and also worship with other camping people. It was a fun and restful time! We thought it would be a good idea to give you an idea of what we got to do while we were out there. Take a look!
Although winter is coming and it’s almost Christmas, we’d like to take you back to the summer and show you some of the best blobs from 2009. I’m sure some of these could have been painful, but it’s always worth it! Hope you are getting excited about next summer and being able to blob again.
It’s that time again; time to eat turkey, stuffing, and all the fixin’s! We hope you enjoy your time this weekend with your friends and family while you are away from school and work. Get some rest and take time to thank God for all the ways He has provided for you. Here’s our way of wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!
