Tron. An good movie. And even better Sockwar here at Camp Ridgecrest! Wish you all could have been a part of this one. Good thing we captured it on camera, this is a must see. Sorry it will make you miss camp even more…
Sockwar is perhaps the greatest activity at Camp Ridgecrest! Running through the woods, working in teams, letting your imagination lose in the adventure, and having an absolute blast with your friends! Sockwar is just awesome! What was your favorite Sockwar theme from last summer? Enjoy this video from one of these Sockwars…
One of the greatest games we play here at camp has got to be Gold Rush! It’s similar to the ever favorite Sock War, but with 10 bases, hundreds of pieces of Gold all over camp, 3 teams, and lots more ways to get points for your team. Here are a few shots of the action! (This was the largest game of Gold Rush is Camp’s history!)
Some of you might love video games. Some of you might not. Either way, you are sure to like this Sockwar intro to the Sockout theme from 2010. Pretty creative. Enjoy it…
As snow falls here at camp, we can’t help but try and hold on to Christmas just a tad bit longer. In our last attempt to enjoy some holiday festivities from this past year, we will share December’s Secret Assignment winner with you.
Ragan Story and her hall of friends at Liberty University sport their Sock War bands, while looking fierce in Ninja attire. Way to go, ladies!
Make sure to check back regularly for our weekly devotions and for January’s Secret Assignment. Happy New Year!
It’s time for another look back at the Sockwars from this summer. The first 2010 Sockwar was a beauty. If you couldn’t guess from the title, this is a play on the hit movie Avatar…but honestly, much better. Enjoy this short look back at Camp Ridgecrest from the summer 2010. Another great video by Matt Stapp.
I wish all of you could be here to see all the Sockwar Intros! But since that will never happen, we’ll continue to capture them on video for your enjoyment. When I watch this, the word “Epic” comes to mind…

So, many of you were not here for this Sockwar, so we wanted to give you a taste of what you missed. For those of you that were here, sit back and remember this, one of your favorite events from this past summer at Camp Ridgecrest! Enjoy….

Gold Rush is one of their favorite games we play here at Camp Ridgecrest! It may look like the famous Sockwar, but it’s quite different. There are 3 teams for Gold Rush, and the object is to collect as much Gold hidden all around camp as possible and take it safely to the bank. You can also get points for hitting members of a different team with your sock that is filled with sawdust. Plus, you want to gain control of as many bases around camp as possible. Lots of ways to get points, lots of ways to help your team, and lots of ways to have fun! All this, plus our staff dressed up like they lived in the Wild West, makes for quite a game. Check out this short clip of your campers playing Gold Rush!
So for the past few days, campers at Camp Ridgecrest have had the chance to experience some pretty incredible activities. Saturday morning started off with a Sockwar – perhaps the most popular activity at camp. That evening Crestridge came over for Carnival…where we bring the carnival to camp! We have about 10 rides, snow cones, cotton candy, a dunking booth, tons of games, food, and more. As if that wasn’t enough, Sunday night rounded out the weekend with Council Ring. This is a special time where campers get to do something that they can’t experience anywhere else. Check out this video to see what I’m talking about…
